Linda R. Vahey

Vice President, Editorial Director of Math and Social Studies

Linda Vahey has been active in educational publishing for more than thirty-five years. Her broad range of experience and expert knowledge of editorial development is a true asset to Brown Publishing Network’s executive team. Linda began her career at Ginn and Company and soon moved to a senior position at Allyn & Bacon. Linda then demonstrated her ability to perform multiple tasks with efficiency and success as Editor-in-Chief, as she managed all subjects in the School Division in editorial, design, and production. After the acquisition of Allyn & Bacon by Esquire, Linda managed the work of two affiliated educational publishers and integrated their educational materials into Allyn & Bacon’s product lines. Linda became Managing Editor when Allyn & Bacon was purchased by Prentice Hall. Linda’s wealth of experience also includes working as partner in an advertising agency with clients such as Fidelity Capital and Verizon, and serving on the staff of COMAP, a nonprofit publisher that produced an NSF-funded high school mathematics program.

Since joining Brown in 1999, Linda has directed all programs in mathematics and social studies, and she heads the company’s Strategic Marketing Initiative Committee.
