Kathryn K. Reynolds

Director of Art and Design

Kathy Reynolds has been working in the educational publishing industry for more than thirty-five years for such publishers as Houghton Mifflin, D.C. Heath, and Silver Burdett Ginn. While at Houghton Mifflin, she managed the student reading anthologies for grades K–6. At Silver Burdett Ginn, she managed the phonics reading program, which featured many components that benefited from her strong art and design skills.

Kathy loves to go into the classroom to talk with children about books and what they enjoy. Her lifelong objective has been to make sure that children have the tools to succeed in school. Kathy has based her career on the use of strong conceptualization skills to make the layout and art in educational textbooks support and enhance children's learning experience.

Since joining Brown in 1998, Kathy has managed several large projects covering all disciplines, such as the Saxon Early Learning program and Navigator books for Benchmark Education. She managed the grades K–8 Summer Success magazines for Great Source and a large program for Macmillan comprised of more than 100 Phonics Practice Readers. Kathy was named Director of Art and Design in 2006 and, with her team, completed 355 books for Fountas and Pinnell’s Leveled Literacy Intervention program for Heinemann.
