Nancy Garrity has a rich background of educational, editorial, and technical experience. Certified in K–8 education, Nancy began her career in the classroom. Early on, she realized she could affect children's lives as a developer of educational materials. Nancy joined Scholastic as part of the editorial team that developed WiggleWorks, the ground-breaking interactive beginning reading program. With a growing passion for educational technology, Nancy earned a Master’s degree in Instructional Technology from Teachers College, Columbia University. She went on to explore the production side of product development, working as a producer for Media Circus and Time Warner’s ParentTime web site, and as Director of Quality Assurance for Tumble Interactive. In 1997, Nancy returned to Scholastic, where she managed the integration of technology into the K–6 basal reading program Literacy Place, and was Executive Producer of interactive products for the K–6 school market. Nancy joined Brown at the end of 2005, where she directs all K–12 technology-based project development.
